VIDEO: Illegal Migration Crime Group Uncovered

The officers of the National Security Service's Economic Security and Anti-Corruption, as well as Investigation Departments of Armenia, have obtained factual data as a result of comprehensive operational-intelligence measures and investigative actions. It has been revealed that residents of Yerevan, K. E. and A. A., colluded together during 2021-2022, organizing the illegal migration of more than twenty citizens of the Republic of Armenia to foreign countries for profit. They provided false documents and information to obtain the necessary permissions for entry into foreign states.

During the investigation, searches were conducted at the residences of members of the criminal group involved in organizing illegal migration. As a result, devices and equipment intended for producing false documents, counterfeit seals, stamps, several passports of citizens, amounts paid for organizing illegal migration, and other items related to the commission of the crime were discovered.

Based on direct suspicion of committing a crime, two individuals have been arrested, and motions have been filed to the court to select detention as a measure of restraint.

The National Security Service of Armenia informs that the Criminal Code of Armenia provides for up to eight years of imprisonment for organizing illegal migration and warns that the Service is committed to preventing such crimes and fully uncovering them.
