VIDEO: One Person Dies as a Result of Collision Between Two Vehicles, Investigative Committee Provides Details

The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia is taking appropriate measures to clarify the circumstances surrounding a road traffic accident that occurred on Sebastia Street in Yerevan. A criminal case has been initiated under Article 242, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. This was reported by the committee.

According to preliminary data, on March 12, 2022, around 22:00, two vehicles—a Nissan and a Toyota—collided on the mentioned street, resulting in one individual’s death and four others being hospitalized with injuries.

An investigation is underway. Preliminary information indicates that on March 13, 2022, around 17:50, a man driving a Ford Fusion hit a citizen in the same area, who later died on the way to the hospital. A site inspection has been conducted, and a forensic medical examination has been appointed. The investigation continues.

Meanwhile, in the Tenth Garrison Investigation Department of the Main Military Investigation Department of the RA Investigative Committee, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 242, Part 2 of the Criminal Code regarding a road traffic incident resulting in death, which took place on the 150th km section of the Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra highway.

According to preliminary data, on March 13, 2022, around 08:30, a collision occurred between an Opel Vectra (driven by a 34-year-old contract serviceman) and a DAF (driven by a citizen of Georgia). As a result of the accident, a fire broke out in the cabin of the Opel Vectra, and the 1981-born contract serviceman inside the vehicle died on the spot, while the driver and two other passengers sustained injuries and were taken to the Gyumri medical center. During the investigation, a site inspection has been conducted, and forensic examinations have been ordered.
