VIDEO: According to Ukrainian sources, the Russian side used phosphorus weapons in Popasna

Russian soldiers deployed phosphorus bombs on settlements in the Luhansk region, announced the head of the military administration, Sergey Kadafin.

“Military warning: Russian soldiers have used phosphorus munitions in Popasna. ‘Incredible suffering and fires,’” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to the International Committee of the Red Cross, phosphorus burns at 800 degrees, and fires can spread over extensive areas, reaching up to several kilometers in length. The use of such weapons can cause severe and painful symptoms or lead to chronic diseases.

The additional protocols of the Geneva Conventions of 1977 prohibit the use of white phosphorus, which poses dangerous risks to the civilian population.
