Prosecutor's Office Explains Basis for Patron David's Release

The Prosecutor's Office of Armenia has commented on the issue of changing the detention of David Galstyan (Patron David). "Considering public interest, I inform you that the detention of the accused David Galstyan in the case involving former Minister of Defense David Tonoyan and others has been changed by the decision of the RA Court of Appeal dated March 14, 2022, and a bail of 50 million AMD has been applied as a measure of restraint for him. Given that the accused David Galstyan has already taken steps to recover the full amount of damage caused by the alleged crime—over 2 billion 700 million AMD—the prosecutors have not opposed changing the measure of restraint selected for him," the explanatory text states.

It is worth noting that the measure of restraint for David Galstyan has been changed, and a bail of 50 million AMD has been applied.
