Snow in Artsakh, Cold Weather, and Living Without Heating is Impossible: MP Raises Alarm

Member of the National Assembly from the "Honorable Mission" faction, Taguhi Tovmasyan, wrote on her Facebook page:

“Azerbaijan's continued criminal policy aimed at terrorizing the peaceful population living in Artsakh, violating basic rights to life and other fundamental rights, and the depopulation of Artsakh has reached a very dangerous and absolutely unacceptable point. Artsakh stands on the brink of a HUMANITARIAN CRISIS.

Alongside the periodic disruptions in communication, electricity, and water supply, since March 8, the entire population of the Republic of Artsakh has been deprived of gas supply. According to the ‘Artsakhgaz’ company, on March 8, an accident occurred in the territory of the Shushi-Zariflu residential areas, which are under the control of Azerbaijani armed forces, damaging the main high-pressure gas pipeline. Azerbaijan is deliberately hindering the implementation of works aimed at resolving the issue by the Armenian side, despite the mediation of Russian peacekeepers.

It is currently snowing in Artsakh, it is cold, and it is impossible to survive for long without heating. Azerbaijan's behavior, which contradicts the norms of international law, is highly condemnable. In the context of international indifference to the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh and the inadequate response to Azerbaijan's criminal actions, the right to life of the residents of Artsakh is endangered.

I have urgently appealed to my international counterparts, including the ambassadors of the USA, Russia, and France in Armenia, hoping for a prompt response and a condemning statement regarding Azerbaijan's criminal actions to help restore normal life in Artsakh. If Azerbaijan continues this absolutely unacceptable behavior, there will soon also be a lack of electricity in Artsakh.”
