Several Rockets Hit Near US Consulate in Iraq
A representative from the US State Department has described the presence of rockets near the US consulate in Erbil, Iraq, as "alarming." According to Reuters, they also reported that no one was injured as a result of the shelling. The building of the US consulate under construction in Erbil was not damaged.
According to Iraqi media, citing law enforcement, a total of 12 ballistic rockets were launched. It has also been noted that damage was inflicted on the building housing the Kurdistan 24 office. There were no casualties or injuries.
It is worth mentioning that several rockets fell near the US consulate in Erbil, as reported by the Iraqi National News Agency. Reports indicate that at least three explosions were heard, and alarm systems were activated. Additionally, operations at the international airport in the capital of the Kurdish autonomous region have been halted, suspending civil air communication in the area. Erbil Governor Omed Khoshnaw stated that no one was harmed as a result of the incident.
