Snow and Blizzard: Ministry of Emergency Situations Reports on Road Conditions
There are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads across the Republic of Armenia. Snow is falling in some regions, with blizzards reported in Shirak. This information was provided by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia.
The roads from the "Amberd" high mountain meteorological station in Aragatsotn province to the Amberd Fortress and the Qari Lake are closed.
The Vardenats Pass is closed for all types of vehicles.
The Saravan-"Zanger" segment in Vayots Dzor province is closed for trucks with trailers.
Additionally, the roads in the city of Jermuk are difficult to navigate for trucks with trailers, while roads in the regions of Artik-Alagyaz, Amasia, Artik, and Ashotik in Shirak province are closed for all types of vehicles.
On the roads in the Abovyan region of Kotayk province, as well as the Goris-"Zanger" roads in Syunik province and the Saravan-"Zanger" segment in Vayots Dzor province, there are spots of black ice.
Snow is falling in the regions of Ashotik in Shirak and Jermuk in Vayots Dzor.
Blizzards are affecting the Akhuryan region of Shirak province.
According to information received from the Emergency Situations Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Crisis Management Center of the North Ossetia region of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. There are about 267 trucks on the Russian side.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively on winter tires.
