Azerbaijan Attempts to Escalate Situation Along Armenia Border and in Nagorno-Karabakh, Armenian Ambassador
Azerbaijan is trying to take advantage of the current international tensions to escalate the situation along the Armenia border as well as in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by Tigran Mkrtchyan, Armenia's Ambassador to Greece, in an interview with one of Greece's largest television stations, "TV100 Thessaloniki," regarding recent incidents of ceasefire violations by Azerbaijani armed forces.
Commenting on the European Parliament's recent resolution on the destruction of cultural heritage in Nagorno-Karabakh, the ambassador praised the involvement of Greek and Cypriot parliamentarians in its adoption.
In response to a journalist's question about the Armenia-Turkey normalization process, Ambassador Mkrtchyan noted that there have already been two meetings between special representatives, and both sides agreed to continue negotiations aimed at a full normalization without preconditions.
Ambassador Mkrtchyan also addressed the current level of relations between Armenia and Greece, stating that they can be considered satisfactory while emphasizing the need for continuous work in all possible areas. He highlighted the historical cultural ties between the two countries, the progress recorded in various sectors in Armenia in recent years, and discussed opportunities for scientific cooperation and tourism enhancement, appreciating the role of the Armenian community in Greece in the development of bilateral relations.
