79 Children Have Died, Around 100 Injured: Ukrainian Side Releases Data
During the 16-day ongoing war in Ukraine, 79 children have died and nearly 100 have been injured. The majority of casualties have occurred in the regions of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Kherson, and Zhytomyr. This figure is not final due to the lack of access to verify the sites of bombardment.
Currently, more than 280 educational institutions have been destroyed, of which 9 have been completely demolished. In the Donetsk region, 110 educational institutions have been affected, 28 in Sumy, 17 in Kyiv, and more than 10 children's health facilities.
On average, during the war, the Russian side has destroyed 17 educational institutions each day. Consequently, 7 million children have been deprived of the opportunity to learn due to the ongoing active military operations in Ukraine and the deliberate destruction of such institutions.
