What Weapons Arrived in Ukraine Before the Special Operation: Russian Foreign Ministry

Before the start of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, approximately 50 military transport aircraft landed, coming from the USA, Great Britain, and other countries. Over the past month, Ukraine received 2000 tons of modern weapons, ammunition, and protective equipment. London has also transferred more than 2000 anti-tank weapons to Kyiv, announced Maria Zakharova, a spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry.

“In the first month and a half of 2022 (before the start of the special operation), nearly 50 military transport aircraft landed in Ukraine from various countries such as the USA, Great Britain, Canada, Poland, and Lithuania. In a joint statement by Ukraine's Minister of Defense Reznikov and the head of the Armed Forces Zaluzhny on February 14, it was noted that over the past month, Ukraine received 2000 tons of modern weapons, ammunition, and protective equipment,” wrote Zakharova on her Telegram channel.

“Great Britain has recently increased the number of its troops stationed in Eastern Europe as part of NATO's expansion. Recently, London transferred more than 2000 anti-tank weapons to Kyiv,” she added.

Zakharova also mentioned that Germany is preparing to supply more than 2000 Strela-2 portable anti-aircraft missile systems, which previously belonged to East Germany, as well as 500 Stinger missile systems.

“Additionally, Berlin will provide a thousand Panzerfaust anti-tank grenade launchers and 14 armored vehicles. The Netherlands plans to deliver 200 Stinger and 50 Panzerfaust systems, while Slovakia will transfer weapons worth 4.4 million euros,” said Zakharova.

According to her, Sweden, Finland, and Austria have also expressed their readiness to support Kyiv. “Stockholm plans to supply 5000 anti-tank weapons, helmets, and bulletproof vests; Helsinki will send 2500 rifles, ammunition, and bulletproof vests,” wrote Zakharova. “This is how the West has actually perceived Kyiv's fulfillment of the Minsk agreements,” she concluded.
