Russia's Foreign Ministry Calls on EU and NATO to Stop Supplying Weapons to Ukraine
The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, stated on March 5 that nearly 50 military transport aircraft from various countries landed in Ukraine during the first one and a half months of 2022.
“In a joint statement on February 14, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov and the head of the country's armed forces, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, mentioned that Ukraine received 2,000 tons of modern weapons, munitions, and protective equipment in the last month,” she wrote on Telegram.
Against this backdrop, Moscow urges EU and NATO countries to cease the supply of weapons to Ukraine, the diplomat emphasized.
“We once again call on EU and NATO countries to stop the thoughtless ‘push’ to equip the unviable Kyiv regime with the latest weapon systems, in order to avoid enormous risks for international civil aviation and other transport communications, not only in Europe but also beyond its borders,” Zakharova said in a commentary published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
