“Let’s Pave the Way for Peace Together”: Erdoğan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, during a phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Sunday, proposed working together to pave the way for peace in Ukraine, according to TASS.
“President Erdoğan stated that an urgent ceasefire would provide an opportunity to address humanitarian issues in the region, as well as to search for political solutions. He reiterated his call: ‘Let’s pave the way for peace together,’” mentioned the statement from the Turkish president's office.
During the discussions, President Erdoğan expressed his readiness to contribute as swiftly as possible to a peaceful resolution of the Ukrainian issue. He emphasized the importance of urgent steps to ensure a ceasefire, open humanitarian corridors, and sign a peace agreement.
President Erdoğan also stated that he is in constant communication with the Ukrainian side and other countries, and he will continue efforts to conduct extensive negotiations on the topic of Ukraine.
