Russia Has No Intent to Divide Ukraine, Says Dmitry Peskov
Russia, while conducting military operations within Ukrainian territory, has no intention of dividing Ukraine into parts but rather seeks to secure guarantees for its own security. This was stated by Russian President's Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov in an interview with Sky News Arabia.
“Since the coup in 2014, Ukraine has been under the influence of Nazi ideology... We want to liberate it from this ideology. Additionally, the presence of NATO infrastructure in Ukraine has increased, which poses a direct threat to Russia's security. We have not set a goal to divide Ukrainian territory, but we are striving to ensure our own security,” Peskov said.
He also added that Moscow aims to ensure that “the balance in the field of security in Europe changes” and that NATO member countries stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.
