Heavy Battles Overnight at Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, Fire Breaks Out, Casualties Reported
Heavy battles took place overnight in Ukraine at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. This information was reported by the Nexta Live Telegram channel, which also published a video depicting the fighting.
It was noted that as a result of shelling in the area of the power plant, one of the buildings of the training complex caught fire. The fire broke out on the 3rd and 4th floors of a five-story building.
According to the Telegram channel, the nuclear plant has six out of one energy block operational, and the fire extinguishing condition at the main plant is currently normal.
The mayor of Enerhodar, Dmytro Orlov, reported that there are casualties at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
Orlov had earlier stated that the shelling of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant had ceased. As reported by the Ukrainian Emergency Situations Service, 40 people and 10 pieces of equipment are participating in the firefighting operations at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.
The head of the regional administration, Oleksandr Starukh, noted that residents of Enerhodar will not be evacuated at this time due to the situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant.
