Video: Suspect in Tragic Car Accident of Family of 5 in Abovyan Detained, Driver of BMW X5 Who Left the Scene

The court has detained the driver of the BMW X5, who is suspected of being involved in the tragic car accident that claimed the lives of five family members in Abovyan. This was reported by Shamshyan.com.

According to reports, the head of the investigative division of Abovyan's investigative department, Garnik Matevosyan, created an investigative team led by senior investigator Dalakyan. He submitted a motion to the Charentsavan court of general jurisdiction in Kotayk province, requesting that the court impose a two-month detention as a preventive measure against 29-year-old Razmik Davtyan, a resident of Kotayk province, who is accused of causing the fatal accident while intoxicated in the BMW X5.

As reported by the website, Judge Armen Varosyan held a closed-door session and upon returning from the consultation room, approved the investigative body's request. R. Davtyan has been transferred from the courtroom to the penitentiary of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia. According to G. Shamshyan's information, the court is under heightened security measures as per the directive of the head of the Kotayk regional police department, Arthur Zohrapyan, due to concerns that relatives of the deceased might come to the court.
