Operation 'Vitsik Dana' Conducted: Indian National Detained
According to SHAMSHYAN.com, on March 2, officers from the 3rd company of the 1st battalion of the patrol service of the police conducted the 'Vitsik Dana' operation in Yerevan.
As Shamshyan.com reports, yesterday at noon, while on duty, the patrol officers stopped a Mini Cooper on Arzumanyan Street after receiving operational information that the driver did not possess a vehicle registration certificate or a driver's license.
It turned out that the car was being driven by a 22-year-old Indian national, Sugil Jayaraman. When the police attempted to hold him accountable administratively, a passenger in the vehicle attempted to bribe the officers with money to avoid documentation of the incident.
The individual offering the bribe has been detained by the police department of Mashtots. He was identified as a 20-year-old Indian national, Muhammad Tariq. Both individuals were subsequently released.
Materials are being prepared in relation to the incident at the investigative department of the Mashtots police.
According to information from a photojournalist, the patrol officer who was offered the bribe is a fan of Indian films and has numerous Indian film DVDs at home.
