VIDEO: ‘Azerbaijani Radio Wave is Broadcasting in Gyumri’ – Karapet Poghossian Raises Alarm
Karapet Poghossian, the mayoral candidate from the ‘Tasibov’ coalition who participated in the Gyumri municipal elections months ago, has raised concerns on his Facebook page that an Azerbaijani radio wave is broadcasting in Gyumri.
“We have been approached by listeners who expressed their surprise and reported that for some time now, a Turkish radio wave has been broadcasting at FM 103.300 frequency in Gyumri. After conducting some research, we realized that this is an Azerbaijani radio wave named ‘Araz’ that is located in Baku, but is only broadcasting in Gyumri. We contacted our friends in Stepanakert, and it turned out that there is no such frequency there, nor in Yerevan, which has raised many suspicions for us,” Poghossian stated during a Facebook live stream.
He noted that before the Artsakh movement, Azerbaijanis also lived in the Shirak region, and some have remained covert to this day, suggesting that the broadcasting of such a radio wave could pose a serious threat. “This radio wave's broadcast could gather all of them and serve as a signal, allowing covert Azerbaijanis to unite through this wave and incite mass disturbances. Secondly, they could use this radio wave for their propaganda here. Experts say that through such a radio wave, they may be able to use certain modern weapons. It has also been revealed that a strange and dubious person who became a member of the Radio Federation about a year ago has appeared in Gyumri in recent years, and his native language listed in his resume is Azerbaijani. We suspect that this individual is broadcasting this radio wave. We believe that this poses a serious threat to national security,” Poghossian emphasized.
