Tragic Car Accident in Zovuni Village: GAZ 24 Crashes into Concrete Power Pole, Resulting in 1 Death and 1 Injury
On February 28, a major and tragic car accident occurred in the Kotayk region. At around 21:30, a GAZ 24 vehicle without license plates collided with a concrete power pole located on the Zovuni-Yeghevard road within the administrative territory of Zovuni village. According to reports from shamshyan.com, two individuals with bodily injuries were transported to Armenia Medical Center.
The collision also damaged a resident's stone fence and an outdoor lighting lamp. A team from the Emergency Situations Ministry's firefighting and rescue unit responded promptly, deactivating the vehicle and securing the gas cylinder valve while maintaining a presence at the scene.
While senior investigators from the Traffic Police, Mayis Badoyan and Avetik Avetisyan, were attempting to conduct an onsite investigation, a call was received from the hospital by the Nairi police department informing them that one of the injured, 66-year-old Artzrun Martirosyan, had died, while 63-year-old Andranik Musheghyan was undergoing examination.
A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident. The police and investigative department are working to establish the identities of the driver, the deceased, and the injured.
