«Lusakert» Closes: Workers Left Jobless as 8,000 Chickens Are Distributed

«Lusakert» poultry factory in the Nor Geghi community is set to distribute its 8,000 chickens and shut down, leaving 88 workers unemployed. Today, March 1, the factory employees held a protest near the facility. This was reported by NEWS.am.

«Lusakert» LLC is permanently closing down. We have been working at this factory for 35 years, and this is the first time we are facing such a situation where the factory is on the brink of closure. Major producers have devalued eggs to the point where our poultry farm cannot survive. Feed costs have risen, as have gas and electricity prices. Eggs have become so cheap that they no longer cover our costs. There are 80 people employed here, and our livelihood depends on this farm; we are facing the possibility that 80 families will be left without food,» said one of the employees.
