Kadyrov Threatens Europe with Deadline Until February 31
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Foreign Secretary Liz Truss, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, and European diplomatic representative Josep Borrell have until "February 31" to retract their statements regarding sanctions against Russia related to military operations in Ukraine; otherwise, Chechnya will take retaliatory measures against them. This announcement was made by the republic's leader, Ramzan Kadyrov, on his Telegram channel.
"Otherwise, the Chechen Republic reserves the right to impose the following sanctions: close the sky of Chechnya to their aircraft, freeze all assets of Johnson expressed in rubles in Chechen banks, and impose an embargo on all assets of British oligarchs in Achkhoy-Martan, and in case of deterioration, in Samashki," Kadyrov stated.
It is noteworthy that on the morning of February 24, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the commencement of a special military operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine. In a televised address, he stated that circumstances "require decisive and immediate actions from us, as the People's Republics of Donbas have appealed to Russia for assistance." According to the Russian leader, all responsibility for bloodshed will lie on the conscience of the ruling regime in Ukraine. He called on Ukrainian military personnel not to follow the criminal orders of the Ukrainian authorities, to lay down their arms, and go home.
