Another Country Declares Airspace Closed to Russia

The Slovenian government decided on Saturday to close its airspace to aircraft coming from Russia, in light of the actions of the Russian Federation in Ukraine, the cabinet has announced. This was reported by RIA.

The Slovenian government, led by Prime Minister Janez Janša, has been actively supporting Kyiv in public statements and on social media. On Saturday, the official Ljubljana announced a donation of 100,000 euros to the Red Cross to assist citizens of Ukraine.

"During a remote-format meeting, the Slovenian government decided to prohibit flights of aircraft registered in the Russian Federation that are operated by companies based in Russia, and that have also been licensed by the authorities of the Russian Federation," the cabinet stated on Twitter.

Slovenia's Foreign Minister Anže Logar called on all five honorary consuls of Russia in Slovenia to resign on Saturday, regarding the Russian operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine.
