The West is Complicit in the Genocide of Donbas Residents, Says Zakharova

Western countries have, in fact, become complicit in the long-term genocide of residents of Luhansk and Donetsk, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. This was reported by RIA Novosti.

“For eight years, Western countries have passively watched as thousands of peaceful residents in southeastern Ukraine have been killed and subjected to violence,” she noted.

According to her, NATO intends to continue supplying weapons to Ukraine, including air defense systems. “All of this indicates that the United States and its allies are not interested in resolving the crisis situation in this country,” she added.

As the diplomat mentioned, before blaming Russia for its military operation aimed at demilitarization and denazification in Ukraine, countries of the alliance should be held accountable for their military adventurism.

“In the context of NATO’s inability to negotiate and the lack of desire to genuinely strengthen security in Europe based on the principles of equal and indivisible security, we consider their attempts to accuse us of aggression to be unfounded,” Zakharova stated.

“Representatives of the alliance hypocritically declared that ‘the foundation of peace on the European continent has been significantly destroyed,’” Zakharova emphasized.
