People in Artsakh Pleased with Developments: 'Hraparak'

According to 'Hraparak' newspaper, people in Artsakh are pleased with the way events are unfolding; they pin their hopes for survival on a strong Russia. They are confident that Russia will never withdraw from Artsakh again, and if it does, Azerbaijan will enter. This implies that Armenians will have to leave with the Russian troops or 'retreat to the mountains and start a partisan war.'

They are also pleased with the current events because if they win the war, the role of Russian power structures—specifically the Ministry of Defense and the FSB—will significantly increase. The interaction of Artsakh authorities with these structures is imperative.

It is known that there are several 'watchtowers' in Russia, each with differing stances. There are contradictions between the Russian Foreign Ministry and security forces, while the security officials overseeing Artsakh maintain a pro-Armenian position.
