Partial Restrictions on Facebook Access Imposed in Russia
The Russian communications regulator, Roskomnadzor, today announced a partial restriction on access to the Facebook social network due to censorship against Russian media.
“Facebook is involved in the violation of fundamental human rights and freedoms, as well as the rights and freedoms of citizens of Russia,” stated Roskomnadzor.
The limitation of Facebook access in Russia is linked to the platform's decision to restrict the official accounts of four Russian media outlets: the Zvezda television channel, the RIA Novosti news agency, and the websites Lenta.ru and Gazeta.ru.
