Moscow Receives Note from Kyiv on Break in Diplomatic Relations: Reminder from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to Ukraine

The Russian side received a note from Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs on February 24, notifying it of the break in diplomatic relations, said Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a briefing. This is reported by RIA Novosti.

“Also yesterday, we received a note from Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the notification of breaking diplomatic relations with our country, this is not our choice, as you understand,” she said. According to her, “the break in diplomatic relations is a logical outcome of the targeted Russophobic policy of the Kyiv authorities.”

It should be noted that on Thursday morning, the President of the Russian Federation announced that he had decided to launch a special military operation for the demilitarization of Ukraine. In a televised address to Russians, he stated that the circumstances “require us to take decisive and immediate actions, the people’s republics of Donbas have appealed to Russia for assistance.”

Additionally, just hours ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed Putin to start negotiations. He specifically mentioned that battles are ongoing across the entire territory of Ukraine.
