The Ministry of Transport Will Urgently Evacuate Everyone from Southern Russia

The Ministry of Transport and Communications is prepared to evacuate all those wishing to leave southern Russia, the department has announced.

Railway and road routes will be utilized for this purpose. “The available transport resources are sufficient for the implementation of the planned actions. All necessary assistance will be provided on site. All necessary services are being engaged in this work. Additional information about specific decisions will be provided soon,” stated the ministry.

Earlier, Rosaviatsiya announced that due to the worsening situation with Ukraine, flights at a number of airports in the south of the country have been restricted. Operations at the airports of Rostov, Krasnodar, Anapa, Gelendzhik, Elista, Stavropol, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, and Simferopol have been suspended.
