Macron on Sanctions Against Russia
Sanctions against Russia will pertain to military and economic sectors. This was announced by French President Emmanuel Macron.
Previously, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, had signaled a package of “the toughest” restrictions against Moscow due to the situation in Ukraine. According to him, “the Russian leadership will face unprecedented isolation.”
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a special military operation in Donbas in a message to the public. He assured that Moscow's plans do not include the occupation of Ukraine but only its demilitarization and denazification.
The Defense Ministry emphasized that no strikes will be made against civilian objects in Ukraine's territory, but only military infrastructure will be targeted; civilians are not threatened, reported RIA Novosti.
