VIDEO: Who are those officials playing with the people's security? Tatoyan
The policy of Azerbaijani hatred and enmity continues unabated; it has not diminished, and the peace is false. We must not allow the Azerbaijani authorities to drug our society with false peace calls. This was stated by the Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan during a press conference summarizing his office's activities.
According to the Human Rights Defender, the 44-day war was also the result of the systematic policy of hatred and enmity pursued by the Azerbaijani authorities, based on two main pillars: religious and ethnic affiliation. What happened in Artsakh is nothing but the result of ethnic cleansing. In general, all this fits into the framework of genocidal politics.
“During and after the war, we worked day and night, in cooperation with our partner in Artsakh, as one unified organism, to gather evidence of all war crimes and crimes against humanity,” noted the Human Rights Defender.
Tatoyan pointed out that Azerbaijani violations in Armenia and Artsakh are fundamentally the same. “Even today, they are the same, and during the war, what methods did they employ—by involving terrorists, with prohibited weapons, mass destruction weapons containing chemical elements, and cluster munitions, directly destroying civilian settlements,” emphasized Tatoyan, asserting that this reflects the long-standing political enmity and hatred of Azerbaijan, which is also a source of the internal political life of the Azerbaijani authorities.
The Human Rights Defender recorded that these threats continue today with violations related to the borders of Armenia, and addressing his compatriots, he emphasized that he has never concealed any data or manipulated information and wants them to know that this Azerbaijani policy of hatred and enmity is ongoing, it has not diminished, and the peace is false.
“I urge all of you, all of us, to demand guarantees from those officials who speak about new processes without any assurances; otherwise, in my view, they speak solely based on political interests, or at least some officials do not realize what they are talking about. We must not allow Azerbaijani authorities to drug our society with false peace calls; we must have our guarantees,” stressed the Human Rights Defender, clarifying that no one wants war or enmity, but we cannot deceive ourselves or allow ourselves to be convinced that all of this is over.
“This is not over; we must have guarantees of our rights and should never allow our issues to be resolved due to gross errors, leading to problems and being told that a solution is unrealistic. I emphasize that the Azerbaijani armed forces must withdraw from the villages and roads of the Republic of Armenia; that is the issue, but what are some officials doing? They are legitimizing their presence with statements and creating problems, and then saying, ‘You know what, it’s unrealistic, how will they withdraw?’ We do not have time; time is working against us,” highlighted the Human Rights Defender.
