Russian President Vladimir Putin and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron have had another phone conversation regarding the situation in Ukraine, reported Dmitry Peskov, spokesman for the Russian President.
This follows their conversation on Sunday.
“Yesterday, around 1 PM, at Macron's initiative, the second phone conversation between the leaders of Russia and France took place within one day. The presidents continued to discuss the situation surrounding Ukraine,” said the Kremlin spokesman, as reported by RIA Novosti.
According to him, the leaders “emphasized the necessity to continue dialogue between foreign ministries and political advisers.”
“In the near future, communication at the level of foreign ministers between Russia and France is also possible,” Peskov added.
On Sunday afternoon, the phone conversation lasted one hour and 45 minutes. Following that, the parties agreed to work in the upcoming hours to organize a meeting of a trilateral working group on the Ukraine issue, the Elysee Palace reported.
