Public Transport Operations Halted in Donetsk

The authorities of Donetsk announced on Saturday that public transport operations have been halted in order to utilize buses and other municipal transportation for the evacuation of citizens due to the threat of a Kyiv assault, stated the head of the city administration, Alexei Kulemzin.

“The railway is also involved in the rapid evacuation of residents,” he added.

Kulemzin noted that residents from Donetsk and its outskirts can be evacuated to Russia from the “Donetsk-2” railway station in the Kalininsky district of the city, as well as from the stations in the nearby towns of Makeevka and Ilovaisk.

On Friday, the leaders of Luhansk and Donetsk, Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin, announced the evacuation of residents of the republics to the Rostov region of Russia due to the increasing threat of military operations.

So far, more than 10,000 people have been evacuated from Donbas to the Rostov region, reported the information center of law enforcement agencies in Rostov-on-Don.
