Explosion in Hnaberd: Grandfather, Grandmother, Daughter, Son-in-law, and 3 Minors Hospitalized with Burns
On February 18, an emergency incident occurred in the Aragatsotn province. Around 4:40 PM, the police department in Aragats received a report from the "Tsaghkahovit" medical center that an ambulance team had transported six individuals with varying degrees of burns from the village of Hnaberd to the "Aparan" medical center.
According to photo reporter Gagik Shamshyan, officials from the Aragatsotn regional police department, including Chief Tigran Karapetyan and an operational team led by Armen Harutyunyan, deputy head for operational matters Mikayel Martirosyan, and deputy head for service matters Razmik Makhmudov, have arrived at the hospital.
Investigations revealed that at around 3:30 PM the same day, a 61-year-old resident of 24 Street in Hnaberd, Armenak Yeghoryan, had thrown a partially filled plastic bottle of gasoline into the home’s stove for burning, which caused an explosion in the stove chamber, damaging the house and injuring Yeghoryan, his wife 58-year-old Vardush Yeghoryan, son-in-law 34-year-old Armen Ohanyan from Ararat province, daughter 32-year-old Tamara Yeghoryan, and grandchildren 6-year-old Mane Oh, 7-year-old Sevak Oh, and 7-year-old Kamo Ye, all suffering 2nd and 3rd degree burns to their faces and upper limbs. The Aragats police are preparing materials on the incident, and forensic medical examinations have been ordered.
The photo reporter states that thanks to the prompt, accurate, and attentive work of the doctors at "Tsaghkahovit" and "Aparan" medical centers, the lives of the injured are not in danger, but they will need to remain under medical supervision for a few days.
