Future Roads of Southern Armenia: What Might They Look Like?

The opening of regional communications, alongside the construction of segments of the "North-South" road, could completely change the southern gateways of Armenia.

Thus, with the construction of one of the largest transport projects in the history of independent Armenia—the Sisian-Kajaran highway—it will be possible to significantly reduce the travel time to the Iranian border. Furthermore, the Sisian-Kajaran highway will become a connecting link between the west and east, that is, it will serve as a land route from Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan.
