Fire on Ship Near Greek Shores with 237 Passengers Aboard

A fire is raging on an Italian passenger ship in the Ionian Sea near the shores of Greece, which is carrying 237 passengers and over 50 crew members, reports Agence France-Presse, citing port authorities.

The Euroferry Olympia was sailing between Igoumenitsa, Greece, and Brindisi, Italy, when the fire broke out. It has been reported that three patrol boats and three coast guard tugboats have been dispatched to the site of the incident.
