As previously reported from the scene by a photojournalist, a fatal hit-and-run incident occurred in Yerevan on February 16. Around 6:30 AM, Rubik Z., driving his Mercedes, struck a female pedestrian on Arshakunyats Avenue, in front of the 'Grand Sport' complex. The driver did not flee the scene; he attempted to assist the injured person and called for an ambulance, but the attending medical team confirmed her death.
According to preliminary information, one of the working hypotheses suggests that another vehicle may have hit the pedestrian, who was thrown and fell on the Mercedes, as broken parts from another vehicle were found about 30-40 meters away from the body, along with the victim's bag, scarf, and one of her shoes, which was ejected from the impact and found in the opposite lane.
