Why Did the US Ambassador Visit the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs? America Received a Written Response

The United States has received a written response from Russia regarding security proposals. The response was delivered to the head of the American diplomatic mission in Moscow, John Sullivan. This information is reported by CBS, citing a senior official from the State Department.

“We can confirm that we received a response from the Russian Federation; it was delivered today to US Ambassador John Sullivan in Moscow,” the television network quotes one of the American diplomats, who remains unnamed.

Sullivan visited the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs today. After staying there for about 15 minutes, the diplomat left the building without speaking to reporters.

During a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin on February 14, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Russia has formulated its response to the US and NATO regarding security guarantees in a 10-page document. According to the minister, the president has given preliminary approval to the document, which will soon be transmitted to the US and NATO. Lavrov assured that the Russian side would publish the document when it is delivered to Western capitals.

The West accuses the Russian Federation of allegedly planning to escalate the situation around Ukraine. Moscow categorically denies this and constantly states that it is not threatening anyone, and all such statements are used as a pretext for deploying NATO military equipment near Russia's borders.
