Artsakh Residents Block Azerbaijani Troop Movement for Several Hours

Residents of Artsakh have blocked the road leading to Karchaghbyur for several hours near the village of Mazavuz in Martakert today, causing the Azerbaijani military convoy to retreat along the route it arrived from. This was reported by Metakse Hakhobyan, a member of the Artsakh National Assembly, in an interview with Sputnik Armenia.

“The Azerbaijanis are waving automatic weapons and shouting. This is how they behave, they are far from civilization... Naturally, people’s patience is running out. Especially when citizens see that the authorities are doing nothing, they start to resist,” said Hakhobyan.

According to Hakhobyan, the last straw for the residents of Artsakh was the wounding of conscript soldier Khachatur Khachatryan due to Azerbaijani gunfire near Mazavuz village on February 15.

“Citizens are trying to compel the Azerbaijanis to adhere to the points of the trilateral agreement, at least to respect the signature of their president,” the MP said.
