There Are Over 200 Emergency Buildings in Yerevan Housing More Than 10,000 People, Arakelyan

There are over 200 emergency buildings in Yerevan, home to more than 10,000 people. Former Minister of Labor and Social Affairs and co-founder of the 'Living Land' party, Mesrop Arakelyan, shared this information on his Facebook page.

He specifically noted, 'The number of these buildings will continue to increase. In 20-30 years, most of Yerevan's housing stock will be 100 years old. There is clearly no strategy for updating the housing stock, and construction has become purely business-oriented. The city’s resilience should become one of our main issues - leaving a livable city for future generations. We will soon present proposals for a master plan on the city's resilience for discussion.'
