Japan Urges Citizens to Evacuate Ukraine Immediately
Japan's Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi urged compatriots on Monday to leave Ukraine as soon as possible. "We must evacuate immediately in the safest way possible," the minister stated in a press conference with reporters. This was reported by TASS.
"Diplomatic efforts are ongoing to resolve the situation, however, the circumstances could deteriorate sharply," he added.
The Japanese Foreign Ministry has already established electronic communication with citizens in Ukraine and urged them to leave the country without delay.
The ministry also noted that only a few staff members remain in the premises of the Japanese embassy in Kyiv. Just last Friday, the Foreign Ministry had called on citizens to evacuate Ukraine immediately, explaining that this decision was made due to the "continuing rise in tensions at the Ukraine-Russia border." The ministry emphasized that the further development of the situation remains "unpredictable despite ongoing diplomatic efforts" aimed at resolving the crisis.
