Airplane Crashes into Water in the U.S.

An airplane with 7 people on board has crashed into the water near the shores of North Carolina, according to local WCTI-TV. Rescue teams are conducting search operations to locate the passengers and crew.

As reported by local authorities, the plane went down east of Carteret County, approximately 4 miles (about 6.5 kilometers) from the shore, on Sunday afternoon. Officials believe there were four teenagers and three adults (including the pilot) on the aircraft.

Coast Guard officials have stated that the plane was flying erratically and disappeared from radar. The search efforts include two Coast Guard boats, a motorboat, and a helicopter.
