About 880 Million AMD in Real Estate and Over 260 Million AMD in Illegal Funds to Be Confiscated from 'Vstrechi Apeer'
On January 20, 2022, a fourth claim for the confiscation of illegally acquired property was submitted to the first instance court of general jurisdiction in Yerevan. This information was provided by the Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia.
According to the latter, the Department for the Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property of the Prosecutor General's Office has filed a claim with the court against Aram Vardanyan, also known as 'Vstrechi Apeer', and two related individuals, seeking the confiscation of property in favor of the Republic of Armenia. The claim specifically requests the confiscation of 10 apartments, residential houses, a shop, and buildings located in Yerevan, as well as 4 land plots in the Kotayk and Tavush regions, and 2 vehicles. In the event of impossibility, the average market value of these assets will be claimed, amounting to a total of 870,997,100 AMD.
Furthermore, the remaining illegal funds amount to 260,298,106 AMD, while another 472,097,316 AMD is claimed to be unsubstantiated by the person's legal income and has illegal origins, making confiscation impossible based on Article 20, Paragraph 4 of the Law on the Confiscation of Illegally Acquired Property.
In the near future, the department will present additional claims for the confiscation of illegal property, for which preliminary security measures have already been applied.
