Trump Took 'Highly Classified' Documents from White House, The Washington Post Reports
Several documents that former President Donald Trump took with him to his Mar-a-Lago residence have been labeled as 'highly classified,' according to The Washington Post.
Citing sources, The Post reports that some documents Trump carried away from the White House after leaving for his Florida club are explicitly marked as 'highly classified' information.
It remains unclear how many classified documents have been recovered by the National Archives. Two sources informed the newspaper that some clearly indicate that they are highly classified information and accessible only to individuals with high-level permissions.
On Monday, news emerged that the National Archives and Records Administration discovered several boxes of White House documents at Mar-a-Lago, which contained important notes, gifts, and letters from world leaders. The Post reported that the retention of such documents at the former president's residence has raised concerns regarding presidential archives law.
The New York Times reported that some documents found at Mar-a-Lago may be classified. An anonymous source informed the newspaper that potential classified materials were found when 15 boxes of presidential materials were seized from the Florida club.
