Scarecrow or Urban Decoration? Details on the Soldier Figurine Discussed Online

Today, a photo taken on Tigran Mets Street in Gyumri has circulated in Telegram channels and various media outlets. The photo features a wooden sculpture depicting a soldier holding a weapon.

One news outlet received an alert from a Gyumri resident, who noted that the figurine resembles a scarecrow and has reported it to the police.

Auroranews.am found that the figurine in question is not a scarecrow but rather part of a series of wooden decorations placed throughout the city. It should be noted that there are various wooden figurines representing the people of Gyumri, including urban decorations featuring backgammon and hoola hoop players, and now the series has been enriched with a soldier figurine.

The press department of the Gyumri City Hall informed Auroranews.am that the creator of the sculptures is a woman from Gyumri. Thematic figurines have been installed in different corners of the city.
