After His Arrest, Boris Bakhsheyans Name Removed from List of Judges Seeking to Work in Anti-Corruption Court

The newspaper "Zhoghovurd" reports that on January 19, 2021, the National Assembly approved two key anti-corruption bills in the first reading—legislation on the Anti-Corruption Committee and the establishment of anti-corruption courts. These were presented by the government in the framework of the Anti-Corruption Strategy adopted in 2019.

According to "Zhoghovurd," judges who have handled high-profile cases have applied to work in the newly established court, including the controversial case judge Tatevik Grigoryan and Gnel Gasparyan, a judge from the Syunik regional court, who is considered the "heart judge" of the authorities and was a former prosecutor.

However, it is noteworthy that Boris Bakhsheyan, who was recently arrested, also expressed interest in working in the new court and was included in the list. Unfortunately, the timing of his arrest came too soon, and the judge did not foresee that he would be detained.

Moreover, it has been revealed that after his arrest, his surname has been removed from the list of judges seeking to work in the new anti-corruption court.
