We Cannot Be Satisfied with Relations That Are at Their Lowest Level in Recent Years: Lavrov
The relationship between Moscow and London can only be stabilized through equal dialogue. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov during a meeting with his British counterpart Liz Truss, according to RIA Novosti.
The UK Foreign Secretary, as well as British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace, have arrived in Russia to discuss the Ukrainian issue.
“Of course, relations can only be regulated exclusively through dialogue based on mutual recognition of each other's legitimate interests and the search for mutually acceptable solutions,” Lavrov said before the start of negotiations.
“If the visit is aimed at overcoming the crisis, then Moscow will respond with reciprocity,” he added.
“We cannot be satisfied with relations that are at their lowest level in recent years,” Lavrov noted. He expressed hope that the parties would restore the mechanisms of bilateral cooperation.
After the press briefing, journalists left the hall, and the meeting continued behind closed doors.
