In Goris, a Woman Poured Gasoline on Her Husband and Set Him on Fire. The Motive is Known

The circumstances of a woman attempting to kill her husband have been uncovered as part of the investigative and procedural actions carried out by the Syunik Regional Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee. This was reported by the Investigative Committee.

According to factual data obtained during the investigation, a 30-year-old resident of Goris, aware of her husband’s extramarital affair, on August 25, 2021, around 14:00, with the intent of unlawfully depriving her husband of life, took a bottle filled with gasoline and a match from home and went to a food point on the Artsakh highway in Goris where her husband’s girlfriend worked. There, she encountered the girlfriend and her husband, and a dispute arose between them regarding personal matters, during which the woman poured the flammable liquid on her husband and ignited him. However, for reasons beyond her control, the crime was not completed, as the man fled to a nearby car wash where the fire was extinguished with water, and he was then taken to a medical center.

Based on a sufficient combination of evidence obtained, the woman has been charged under Article 34-104, part 1 of the RA Criminal Code. A signature on non-leaving has been chosen as a precautionary measure against her. The preliminary investigation has concluded, and the criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor supervising the proceedings with a request to confirm the accusatory conclusion and forward it to the court.
