Black Ice, Closed and Impassable Roads

The Road Department Foundation reports that as of February 10 at 20:00, snow is falling in the regions of Abovyan (Charentsavan section), Hrazdan, Sevan, Gavar, Martuni, Vardenis, Chambarak, Dilijan, Ashtarak, Aparan, Aragats, Stepanavan, Yeghegnodzor, Vayk, Jermuk, Sisian, Goris, and Meghri. In the regions of Ararat, Talin, Ani, and Artik, there is a mix of rain and snow. Rain is falling in the regions of Ijevan and Noyemberyan.

On the roads of the Sisian region and in the Stepanavan bends, there are areas of black ice. In the Goris region, fog is present with visibility reduced to 40 meters. The Vardenyats Pass is closed to vehicles with trailers, while other types of vehicles are facing difficulties in passage.

Road construction workers are carrying out cleaning and sanding operations on the roads. All interstate and republican highways are open.
