Azerbaijani Veteran Sets Himself on Fire

An Azerbaijani veteran, Hasanov Serdar Rustanoglu, has set himself on fire in front of the executive authority of the Goranboy region. This was reported by infoteka24.

He is currently in the intensive care unit of the Goranboy hospital, and his condition is assessed as critical.

Since the Artsakh war, Azerbaijani veterans have expressed deep dissatisfaction with the authorities’ treatment of them as 'liberators.'

There have been several documented cases of veteran suicides, with many others complaining about social conditions, the lack of pensions, disability benefits, or the degree of disability.
