Will Electric Buses Be Acquired? The Mayor Meets with International Partners

Yerevan Municipality is currently implementing various projects in collaboration with the European Investment Bank in several sectors of the urban economy, including the acquisition of new electric buses, the reconstruction of community polyclinics, and more. This was reported by the press service of the Yerevan Municipality.

During a meeting with Stéphanie Giard-Bran, the head of public sector financing operations at the European Investment Bank, Yerevan Mayor Hrachya Sargsyan and his first deputy Levon Hovhannisyan discussed issues related to the expansion of cooperation between the two entities.

Emphasizing the mutually beneficial partnership established with the European Investment Bank, the Mayor noted that ongoing projects already provide a solid foundation for new initiatives. In particular, Mayor Sargsyan highlighted the acquisition of new electric buses, the reconstruction of community polyclinics, the continuation of renovation programs for kindergartens, and the implementation of several other projects that will ensure comprehensive solutions in these areas.

Hrachya Sargsyan also stressed that the community today has the full support of the Armenian government in the implementation of credit and grant programs with international partners.

Expressing gratitude for the willingness to expand cooperation, Stéphanie Giard-Bran stated that the bank is ready to consider new projects aimed at the development of Yerevan and the provision of comfortable conditions.

Presenting his approaches to city management, Mayor Sargsyan also informed that work is underway with the first deputy to issue eurobonds, with possibilities being examined in consultation with representatives of specialized companies. This initiative will not only play a crucial role in the economic development of the city but also serve as an important and attractive tool for local and foreign investors.
