US Sends New Troops to Poland
Four C-17A Globemaster III military transport aircraft have landed in Ukraine, as reported by Interfax. It is noted that units from the U.S. Army's 82nd Airborne Division have arrived.
According to the source, the aircraft took off from Fort Bragg base in North Carolina and landed at the airport in Rzeszów, Poland, which is located 90 km from the Ukrainian border.
At least 750 service members from the U.S. Army's 18th Airborne Division are currently in Poland. In total, approximately 1,700 American paratroopers will be stationed in this area.
Earlier, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby announced the dispatch of additional military forces to Germany, Poland, and Romania in response to the situation surrounding Ukraine.
