It is Extremely Challenging to Remain Self-Isolated in the Context of This New Legal Anarchy, Vardevanyan
It is difficult to remain self-isolated in the context of this new legal anarchy and the terror against the judiciary. Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, wrote on his Facebook page.
In particular, he noted: "Dear colleagues, you will recall that we appealed to the Constitutional Court regarding the constitutionality of the age limit for the legal scholars of the Supreme Judicial Council. The issue directly pertains to the impossibility of Gagik Jhangiryan's continued tenure. Remarkably, upon starting the examination of the case (the issue of constitutionality is evident), the Constitutional Court decided to postpone it until April 19, 2022. The justification cited was the 'need for further studies.' In another instance, the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly was postponed because the respondent needed to prepare for an oral hearing.
To summarize, in April, there will be two cases in the Constitutional Court regarding the lack of constitutionality of two officials' tenures.
P.S. It is exceedingly difficult to remain self-isolated in the context of this new legal anarchy and the terror against the judiciary."
